A MESSAGE REGARDING ONLINE SAFETY

MAY 02, 2024

Dear Church ‘Ohana,

In the past few days, there has been a surge in phishing emails targeting members of our congregation. These emails consist of someone pretending to be Pastor Timmy, requesting multiple gift cards in various amounts for donation/gift purposes.

Phishing attacks often mimic legitimate correspondence from trusted sources, such as banks, social media platforms, or churches. They may contain alarming messages urging you to take immediate action, such as updating your account information or verifying your identity. However, engaging with these emails can compromise your devices and expose you to identity theft or financial fraud.

Before responding to any email that gives you pause (or clicking on any links):

  1. Verify the sender: All FPC Hawaii email addresses include fpchawaii.org in the sending address. Double-check the sender's email address to ensure the message you’ve received is legitimate. Or…

  2. Ask FPC’s Staff: Call the office or email our team to inquire about the message you’ve received.

Please do reach out to our staff team directly if you have any concerns or questions regarding anything suspicious or your online security. Our contact information is below:

  • Church Email: aloha@fpchawaii.org

  • Office Phone: (808) 532-1111

With love in Christ,
FPC Staff
